    15 de junho de 2016, Estados Unidos ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

Charlotte was were our trip tuned ugly. Between thunder storms, unavailability of gates and crew issues we were delayed about 4 hours. The good news is that once we got into the air the food, wine, and "pods" were great allowing us to sleep for about 4 hours. Also a side benifit was that our room in Paris was ready with a Marriott upgrade and amenities.Leia mais

  • Paris in Three Days

    16 de junho de 2016, França ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

We had a great time in Paris despite some rainy weather. We had pre booked a full day pivate tour of Montmartre (including Sacre Coeur), Marais, Latin Quarter, and St Germain which we had not visited during our last trip, went back to the Lourve with a private guide to get a more in depth visit, and did a tour of the Opera Garnier, the opera house of Phantom fame. The tours and guides were excellent and having a private guide for most of them maximized our tme. We would highly recommend Tour by Locals for private tours which we used in all of the countries we visited. On our last night we met our friends for a special pre barge dinner at Le Procope which is the oldest cafe in Paris.Leia mais

  • Vienna, Austria

    4 de julho de 2016, Áustria ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Today we first did a bus tour around Vienna, then a walking tour ending with some free time. While acknowledging some great architecture, we were disappointed in the large amount of modern shopping areas which took away some of the old world charm. Tonight we are going to a Mozart concert which hopefully will be representative of the period. The concert turned out to be great. It was held in a beautiful old building which used to be the stock exchange that has great acoustics. There were 10 musicians, two singers, and two ballet type dancers. They performed shortened versions of famous pieces which kept everyones attention. We then went back to the ship after a brief night tour of Vienna to see the lights for a after concert buffet. It featured a goulash type soup which was delicious. More food😄!Leia mais

Today we had a private tour that started with the Skanzen open air museum. We then drove to the charming town of Szentendre. And of course we bought a bottle of wine😄Leia mais
