Cabaña Suiza - Travel to Petén

We left Lake Atitlan after breakfast to drive to the airport for our flight to Petén, the northern part of Guatemala. A must for any birder who visits this beautiful country.

We stopped at Cabaña Suiza for lunch where we did some birding in the gardens and feeders.
As soon as we started watching the feeders, a Zone-tailed Hawk was called out and we got impressive looks of this raptor soaring low above us.

On our flight to Flores, Petén, we got to see Guatemala from the birds point of view.
A wonderful variety of habitats on the volcanoes, mountains, lakes and foothills. Guatemala has a lot to offer.

In Flores, we set out to Tikal, where on the way we would stop at El Remate to enjoy the sunset by the lake and enjoy some more birds!Читать далее
