• Drive around Sydney

    9 марта 2024 г., Австралия ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Today Evelyn and Carlos took us for a drive around the city… being a Saturday it was busy. Sydney has so many traffic lights! We saw the Sydney Opera House and Sydney harbour bridge, from the opposite bank of where we were last night. Some terrific views of the city especially at Panos Gardens giving sea views and the city skyline at Dudley Page reserve.

We stopped at Watson’s Bay for lunch. Delicious fish food. Afterwards, we walked towards MacQuarie Lighthouse along the cliff top.

Towards the end of the drive, we went to see the McPherson’s first house in Darling Street, where there was a quaint terrace house (now worth 2.5 million AUD) that Evelyn’s Mum and Dad along with her and 9 siblings lived in when her family immigrated to Australia in 1961. Some years ago, her mum had given it away because there was so much wrong with it. We could say “if only” but it hasn’t stopped the family and offspring flourishing.

Once back home, we relaxed for the afternoon. Then Gabriel, Evelyn’s daughter and family came over and cooked Nanchos for dinner made by Dan, Gabriel’s husband, who is a cook 🧑‍🍳 😀 Lovely to meet them all.
