Sibetan, Bali (Intrepid Tour Day 5)

The village of Sibetan is pretty new to community-based tourism and their partnership with Intrepid. The home stay conditions were a bit rough (my main complaint was the horrible mildew smell in my room, mixed with the almost equally horrible smell of artificial air fresheners). Our hosts didn’t speak any English, but smiled constantly and brought coffee the moment I woke up. The community is having their big biannual ceremony next week, and they have been preparing for it since February. The tour of the village was so cool it made the roughing it worth it.
