    Day 1 - Reykjavik- Part 1

    We arrived in Iceland and spent the day exploring Reykjavik until we could board our ship.

    Ropes strung up to hold on to - the rule is keep one hand for yourself and one for the shipObservation lounge - high deck - great place to just sit and see what is around youLibrary and addition observation loungeOne of our educational talks, showing we are now in arctic waters - we have a photo class laterOur current location at approx 11:45 Iceland timeEach room has a locker in base camp to store our boots (low deck, where we would board the zodiacs)First chunk of sea ice I spotted2nd chunk a little biggerLunch - I had pork belly bites w/hash brown - one of the tastiest things I have ever eatenThere are exquisite National Geography images all through the shipOur zodiacsWe will be spending time in the sauna later ...Sun deck

    Day 2 - at sea, headed towards Greenland

    Truly a fascinating place to visit for any bird watching

    Eiderdown is one of the rarest and most luxurious types of down available, which makes it significantly more expensive than other varieties.     Fun fact : Approx 6 weeks after they are born, they are fully fledged and make their way at night to the sea. They swim away from the shore and do not return to land for several years - usually 3 years of completely living out at seaЧитать далее
