Farewell to Crete

Thousands of cafes and many, many delightful small bakeries. Went on a wine tasting to learn about the many indigenous grapes that grow on this island.
The remote Amari valley, overlooked by Mount Idi, is one of Crete's most scenic areas, dotted with churches, olive groves and vineyards.
The earliest palace (1900-1700 BC) was built on deposits from the Neolithic and early Minoan period (3000-2000 BC). This was partly replaced in 1700 BC until abandoned in 1450 BC.
Crete's third largest city after Heraklion and Chania. Another pretty port with many Venetian remains.
