A one-day side trip to see Boulder. A little gem. Farmers" market - everything from virtuous fruit to local hooch aka whiskey (?!). And Pearl St Mall where Nigel found some adorable jewellery.

Boulder"s Tajikistan Tea House. Or "Persian" Tea House according to the Manager. Taken apart then painstakingly rebuilt in Boulder. Just beautiful- and they serve Earl Grey!

Calgary's economy is very dependent on oil and gas. Despite the current recession in this sector there are still new buildings going ever upwards .

When the railway went through in 1882, there was nothing here. The earliest buildings date from the turn of the century. Fortunately a few of them survived.
