Camino Frances 2024

We got up at 6:30 this morning, and hit the closest Panaderia. The croissants were as big as a plate and melt in your mouth good. That and my Cafe Americano gave me enough energy to last for hours. We had 24km to do today and it went really quick. We got to enjoy a great sunrise and very little trail congestion. I don’t have a ton to report today and not many photos. We popped in while laundry was going to this sweet little shop that appeared to be a gift shop, but in addition to that they had healthy food from all the regions we have traveled through. Cheeses, hummus, tapenade, TACOS (Spain style, of course), amazing salads, and on and on. We wanted to try it all, but we got a few things and shared. It was perfect. That made for an early dinner and early to bed. Rain is forecasted for tomorrow. Weather app says there is a 20% chance starting at 8, increasing to 75% chance with an inch of rain. I just can’t. We have 20km to do so we decided to wake up at 4, leave by 4:30, and hopefully arrive in Santiago by 9-9:30. Last time we did this we did 20km in 4 hours! There are no coffee shops open, so no wonderful distractions. We are hoping to beat the rain, but we will see. This evening there are high wispy clouds and doesn’t look like rain at all, so we may be overthinking this lol! Regardless, we have our headlamps ready and we are totally ready to close this chapter! Pilgrim mass is at noon so we will make it in plenty of time for that and to get our COMPOSTELA!!Our suitcases have been delivered to our hotel and we will be back to normal by the end of the day? Wow it has been so long I am not sure what normal will feel like. We have been walking for 32 days. That’s a long time…and the last time I’ll be on the Camino.Читать далее
