Canberra - Capital Hill

Our first afternoon saw us drop in to say hi to Albo... but apparently he's in the UK.
We did have a nice time checking out his work place. Very nice.

Another lovely camp on the Murrumbidgee. So peaceful. We were the only ones here.
Finally had a nice evening to sit out by a fire and enjoy a wine or 2.
Hay ... Water Towers

Hay... Bishops House

This magnificent old home housed the Anglican Bishops in the area from 1880. It also had beautiful gardens, including a hidden rose garden.

Hay... Shear Outback

Hay has a great museum featuring the history of shearing. Lots of really interesting info. Well, set out displays.

Bidgee Riverside Walk

We are currently in Hay. Free camping at Sandy Beach Reserve on the Murrumbidgee.
Enjoyed a stroll around the Bidgee Riverside Walk this afternoon. Just across the river from our camp.

Yanga Shearing Shed

Yanga Homestead

We picked up a key from the Balranald Info centre and headed just out of town to explore this interesting homestead.

It's a lovely little town with heaps of history.
We enjoyed the discovery centre. An excellent area for visitors to drop in. With good RV parking, showers, loos, and a cafe.

Australian Inland Botanical Gardens

This garden is in NSW, just over the border from Mildura.

Visited Loxton on the Murray River today.
There is a fascinating historical village. Was well worth a visit. Not usually my thing, but we really enjoyed exploring the local history.

Braved a hot, windy day to travel out to Level Post Bay today. It's still in the mid-30s here, almost sunset.

There's nothing like a great swimming hole and a hot spring to relax after a dust drive.

A road less travelled

We left Marree this morning, heading out to Muloorina Station for a couple of days.
Will be out base camp to explore Lake Eyre.
Flying over Lake Eyre

Today, we were so lucky to be able to fly over Lake Eyre. Photos don't do just to the beauty of this area.
