Day 51. Mahon, Menorca, SpainSeptember 24, 2019 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C
From Alicante to Mahon is 252 sea miles.
We arrived in Mahon at 8.30am.
Mahón, or Maó, is the capital of the Spanish island of Menorca, part of the Balearic Islands. It’s known for its British-style Georgian houses and sheltered harbour. It is a beautiful island, green and picturesque and Mahon is a fascinating and lively township. I loved it here. Much nicer than Majorca.
We walked off the ship in Port de Maó and up the hill to the township.
We reached the Portal de Sant Roc in Plaza del Bastio. This is the only remnant from the ancient medieval city wall. We walked along Carrer de Sant Roc.
Lots of wonderful shopping streets and shopping mall.Read more
