We arrived in a hot Porto and instantly fell in love with our hotel, which was the best I've ever stayed in. Our room featured a private whirlpool and a TV embedded in glass, with a very unique bathroom. We discovered that McDonald's in Porto is quite fancy, more like a museum than a fast food place, and the food, especially the truffle mushroom burger, was delicious.

On our first day, we explored the area around our hotel and for sunset, walked to a well-known bridge. The views from the bridge, especially as it got darker and the lights came on, were stunning.Meer informatie

Hop On Hop Off Bus

We started our day early with a great breakfast buffet at the hotel, then set off to find our bus stop. The long bus ride took us through various parts of the city, but it was quite hot and exhausting. We stopped at a winery to try some port wine and passed by a beach we planned to visit the next day, noting it was quite a distance from our hotel.

For dinner, we enjoyed delicious smash burgers delivered to our door, followed by refreshing drinks from the nearby Starbucks. We capped off the warm and busy day with a relaxing soak in the whirlpool, waiting for the evening to cool before diving in.Meer informatie

The Atlantic Ocean

On the second day of our hop-on hop-off bus tour, the heat was almost unbearable, but we kept going, sticking to our plan of exploring the beach area. The absence of shade meant we quickly became exhausted, feeling the toll of our extensive walking from the days before. Yet, the breathtaking views of the Atlantic were a reward, with the pictures we captured resembling wallpapers found online.

In the evening, a must-do on our list was to savor pastel de nata, a task made challenging only by the sheer abundance of bakeries offering these delicious treats at every corner. For dinner, we opted for something familiar yet new for Domi - Pizza Hut, marking his first experience with the chain. To conclude our day, we found relaxation once again in the comforting embrace of the whirlpool, a perfect end to another eventful day.Meer informatie

We walked around the city for the last time and headed towards the airport afterwards. The view from the plane was simply beautiful! It's good to be back home.
