Seatac Security

So it begins! 😬
Please stand-by

And now I wait… and I hope… and prob wait some more!
Still here!

Well, didn’t make the flight. It showed 28 open seats and 7 standbys last night, but this is the non-rev life! No seats open today, yet they managed to put put on 17 standbys! Many people no-showedOkumaya devam et
No luck!

So no luck today. Two Amsterdam and two London flights later… I’m headed home and coming up with my game plan for tomorrow!
Back again!

What am I doing back here so soon?! 🤦🏻♀️ I’ve decided that getting out of Seattle is my best bet today. Gonna try some flights out of Newark. So this flight with 13 open seats, where myOkumaya devam et
Finally on my way!

So thankful! Made the flight, I have a whole row to myself on a mostly full aircraft and I finally feel that I’m on my way to Portugal!
Try, try, try again!

Why do all security lines say approximately 10 minutes? More like 45 minutes add 10 minutes! I’ve got three flights in my sites for tonight to Porto and Lisbon. Unfortunately, two of them are on twoOkumaya devam et
No words…i can’t

So I didn’t make the flight. The agents even told me I had a seat, but someone had been mis -ticketed and at the last minute they added them to the flight. I’m exhausted…frustrated. I’ve neverOkumaya devam et
A new day to find a way!

I’m not gonna lie, I shed some tears on my way to a hotel last night. I was so disappointed. I never imagined that the hardest part of the Camino was going to be getting there! But with the morning,Okumaya devam et
New York to Lisbon!!!

It is a much better day today! My first flight did not look promising, but here I am! Aisle seat, with a pillow and a blanket on TAP airlines! Finally leaving the States and destined for Portugal! SoOkumaya devam et
Landed in Lisbon

It was a sleepless flight, but the crew was very kind! Thank you TAP! Now customs and a flight to Porto!
A moment in Lisbon for breakfast!

There’s just enough time to navigate this huge airport and get breakfast before boarding my Porto flight! (assuming I get on, of course 😆) Breakfast at bedtime! Mmmm, quiche lorraine!
At last…Last flight!

I’ve made it onto my last flight! The Lisbon airport is so big and so many aircraft, they have to bus you to most flights! This has been a…memorable…journey! Porto here I come… see you soon Andrea!
I’m Here!!!

So happy! Porto countryside looked beautiful and green as we landed. The airport is much smaller and to my liking! I got some Euros at the cash machine and bought a yummy strawberry energy drink atOkumaya devam et
Found Andrea!

I made it to the Airbnb just in time to check-out! 😆 Andrea booked us another night somewhere, since I’m a tad late getting to Porto! We have to kill a few hours before we check into our newOkumaya devam et
Airbnb for tonight

All checked in! Cute place by the river. Has a King bed as well as a dangerous 10ft ladder to a second loft bed! Air conditioning is broken, but we do have a window that lets in a good breeze.
That was a good first day!

It’s hard to believe I’ve barely been here a day! Andrea found a cute courtyard place for dinner that was a bit hidden away from the hustle and bustle! After that we walked around a bit more. IOkumaya devam et
Today…we walk! Yay!

After a great nights sleep, (thank you mom and dad for the amazing earplugs), we start off semi-early! 7:30am! Here we go!
River meets the coast

Beautiful morning! Walked most the way to the coast with another pilgrim from Ireland! McConnell, McDougal,.. McDonnell?? I couldn’t tell you which was his name! 🤣 Stopping for coffee and aOkumaya devam et
Matosinhos… or…

We’ve arrive in Matosinhos! 7.5 miles! This was our planned first stop, but we both feel we have more in us and our curiosity is taking us forward! Where we will end our day?… who knows!
Lunch at Aldea Nova Perafita

Taking a lunch break now at a beach restaurant. Bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and berry iced tea. Feet are a bit more tired, but definitely doing better than I anticipated! We have determined to walkOkumaya devam et
Labruge and our first alburgue!

We walked SO much farther than we had anticipated! 17 miles according to my pedometer! Definitely tired, but feeling accomplished! The coast was gorgeous! After Matasinhos it was miles and miles ofOkumaya devam et
On the trail again!

It was a good night… but would have been a bit better if not for fireworks and hard mattress. But what can you ask for for 10 euros? My clothes that I washed the night before were still a bit damp,Okumaya devam et
On our way to Rates

We’ve decided our next stop is Rates! Andrea called ahead and the alburgue says they have plenty of beds available! We chose a path to the central that seems to be less traveled. You really have toOkumaya devam et
A lunch break!

Andra and I both agree that we like this part of the walk even better than yesterday! Yes, we are more tired and more hot, but on this route you never know what’s around the corner! There’s a lotOkumaya devam et
