    Qutub Minar - Minaret and Victory Tower

    Another UNESCO World Heritage site! The tower was built between 1199 and 1220. It is 238 feet tall and the tallest stone tower in India. It’s made of red sandstone and marble. A large mosque was built near it from stone blocks taken from existing temples in the area that were destroyed by Islamic invaders. The large mosque didn’t survive the test of time, but remaining parts were carved in a beautiful blend of Islamic and Hindu symbology.Leer más
