  • Prague....East European Diamond

    8 de setembro de 2023, República Checa ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

WOW! We have been to a few spectacular cities on the trip, but Prague is just stunningly beautiful. From cobblestone streets to amazing buildings, it is quite simply a gem. After arriving on the train overnight from Venice to Vienna and then onto Prague, we checked into our amazing hotel, The Esplanade Hotel, and then headed out to explore. A dinner at Marina Ristorante on the banks of the Vitava River overlooked by Prague Castle.Leia mais

  • In Love with Prague

    9 de setembro de 2023, República Checa ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

    sbohem Praho vrátíme se

Prague is amazing. It's such a beautiful bohemian historic city. Old Town Square took my breath away. We loved the cobblestone streets, the soaring spires, the old fashioned trams, and the fairytale castles.Spent Saturday roaming the city on a hop on- hop off bus and river cruise. Such a welcoming and friendly place. A definite place on our "ever growing returning too" list. Another bucket list item checked off when we watched the Astronomical Clock chime into 8pm on Saturday night (with about 50,000 other people) also great to wake up on Saturday morning after the Broncos won over the Storm in the first game of the 2023 Finals series.Leia mais

  • Short stay in Hamburg Germany

    10 de setembro de 2023, Alemanha ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

The busiest place we have been so far on this trip. The train station was hectic, even at 8.00pm when we went for a short walk. Only here one night, so little chance to look around. Price for food and beers was pretty good when compared to Venice. Had a great weiner snitzel for dinner, and Darren had steak.....and a few beers.
Danke, Hamburg, kurzer Aufenthalt, aber lustig.

  • Warnemunde Germany

    14 de setembro de 2023, Alemanha ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Fun and games today with an emergency alert going off on EVERYONES phones and then a siren sounding across the whole area.....bit alarming when it's all in German....and in the shadows of a nuclear power station. Everyone reacted the same as a fire alert in Coles. With a mere shrug of the shoulders. The locals were not alarmed, so we took our lead from their reaction or lack of. Beautiful little Port town and had a lovely walk around. A stunning harbour lined with colourful boats and buildings. A beautiful beach on the Balkin Sea with thousands of beach chairs/huts all along the waters edge. A bit brisk for a swim. Large transport ships are coming and going with cars and trucks loading and unloading. Sand sculpture display on for the end of the tourist season.Leia mais

  • North Sea chill in Gothenburg Sweden

    15 de setembro de 2023, Suécia ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Chilly day as we docked at Gothenburg Sweden today. Dug out the jackets, scarves, and beanies to rug up for the North Sea chill in the air. Gothenburg is the 2nd largest city in Sweden behind Rotterdam, with a population of 600k tesidents, and currently home to the tallest building in the country. Took the shuttle bus into downtown Gothenburg and then had a lovely stroll around the town centre. Quite cosmopolitan with modern buildings mixed with centuries old structures and statue's, on the banks of a lovely watercourse that meanders through the city. Like Prague, there are cute trams that seem to date back to the 1940's. Beautiful little side avenues made for pedestrians and push bikes with every type of shop you can imagine. Looking for a pub or hotel for a drink....keep your eyes open for the Lagerhaust.Leia mais

  • Holland - Cheeses and Clogs

    17 de setembro de 2023, Países Baixos ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

A visit to Simonehaven Cheese and Clog making farm. OMG my cheese obsession is overwhelming...even cannabis cheese 🧀 😋. Decided we like the 2+ years old Cheeses for flavour and texture. If Italy turned me into a coffee snob, then The Netherlands has made me a cheese snob. Some cheese and mustards purchased to take home with us....probably won't make it past this week before we open itLeia mais

  • Back on board.. See Ya Ijmuiden

    17 de setembro de 2023, Países Baixos ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Nederland is prachtig en kan niet wachten om er weer naartoe te gaan

Can't wait until we make a journey north in the Winter rime. Holland is just glorious and to think it was mostly reclaimed from the sea and lakes and protected by dykes. The ingenuity of man centuries ago to create a place that flourishes up to 4.5 metres below sea level in some places.Leia mais

  • Southampton UK...laundry day

    18 de setembro de 2023, Inglaterra ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

Laundry and mani/Pedi day for me in Southampton. Rainy and windy. This weather seems to be following us from Sweden. Even the pigeons were basking in the short-lived sunshine in East Park Southampton near the Titanic Engineers Memorial. As we head towards Spain and Portugal from tomorrow, hopefully, the sun and warmer days will return.Leia mais

    Bienvenida a la coruna españa

Danced with a Spanish Transformer and watched a submarine head out into the North Atlantic Ocean. A very diverse day of music, history and nonsense.

  • Big day out in Kusadasi Turkey

    28 de setembro de 2023, Turquia ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Big day out to Ephesus to the last known home of the Virgin Mary high in the hills, drank the holy spring water, walked the ruins of the Ancient City of Ephesus, visited the Ephesus Archeological Museum, got to watch beautiful Turkish Carpets being hand woven (some taking 6 to 9 months with over 1 million stitches) and enjoyed a delicious lunch of Turkish delicacies. Returned to walk through a small section of the Kusadasi Grand Bazaar and browse through the Fake Genuine merchandise (how it is advertised 😄).Leia mais
