Istanbul

Unfortunately, everything has an end and so it is with our trip to Istanbul. It was beautiful, fascinating and exciting. Istanbul is so diverse and we met great people, ate delicious food, saw a lot of culture and history. All in all, we learned to love the city. You could spend at least 3 more months in this city and you still wouldn't know everything. Istanbul we say thank you!

Thanks to Emirhan Hotel for the great apartment with the rooftop terrace. The view was unique and it was fun to watch the sunrise in the morning and have a few drinks at night and watch "the city that never sleeps".

So now for the details. Theresa and I wanted to try to get from our apartment to Sabiha Gokcen Airport by public transportation. For this we had to get on the tram at Cemberlitas stop and take the T1 to Laleli-Üniversite stop. Passing the university we had to get to Vezneciler metro stop and from there take the metro to Taksim Square. Arrived at Taksim Square to the Hava bus stops and from there the to the airport. Takes about 90 min and costs a total of 125 LT which is the equivalent of 6-7 €. For comparison on arrival we took a shuttle taxi for 55 € which took us about 60 min at night. Overall, it should be said that the car is the worst means of transportation in Istanbul, traffic is hell. Better to take the tram and metro. Easy Ride!Baca selengkapnya
