Some stories have to be shared. This is Gabriel's family restaurant named after one of his grandparents Gjene. She was a teacher of Albanian during the communist period but during her lessons taught the children that Europe was good. That Europe was open-minded. That people in Europe were free. They put her in jail for 15 years and after she had to live on the street as they took her home. Her and her husband in the picture sold wood for pennies or cleaned the homes of rich communists for bread.Read more
