    Finally, we arrived at our Dad's hometown. We had lunch at our Aunt's house and rested a little before going to the cementery to light a candle for our grandparents buried there. We decided to go around town and go home early in the morning.Read more

  • Tinagong Dagat Beach Resort

    Breathtaking view at Tinagong Dagat. This place is known for its foot bridges that connects the islets together. It is located in Sipalay just a few minutes from Hinoba-an. A lot beaches and diving spots here. Enchanting place to explore and we were lucky to go inside for free.Read more

  • Corregidor Day Trip

    I booked a Day Tour to Corregidor Island via Sun Cruise . As of today it cost 2350 pesos for the tour including Ferry fare and buffet lunch. I think it is the most convenient and safest way to explore Corregidor. I was in a hurry not to be late. Ferry will leave at 8 AM but boarding time at 7 AM. I've been to Corregidor before when I was in High School on my Girl Scout Days. Unfortunately, I was not able to see the island well. I remember we just sat near the dock and ate our lunch. So here I am on my way to Corregidor.Read more

  • Middleside Barracks

    Time to explore the island and our first stop was Middleside Barracks. Our tour guide said it was built in 1915 to house the 60th Coast Artillery anti-aircraft regiment, the US Regular Army, the 91st Coast Artillery and the Philippine Scouts.Read more

  • Battery Way

    Our second stop was Battery Way. One of the impressive gun placements in Corregidor. The battery was said to be the last one to surrender to the Japanese during the occupation of the island.

  • Battery Hearn

    Also on the Topside we stopped at Battery Hearn. It is famous to Japanese tourists who remember the banzai victory photos of their countrymen/troops when they conquered Corregidor.

  • Pacific War Memorial

    We were given 40 minutes to see the place. Corregidor has been frequently visited by war veterans along with their families and friends because of the place 's history. The Pacific War Memorial was built to honor the American and Filipino soldiers who fought during World War II. Behind the Pacific War Memorial is the sculpture known as the Eternal Flame of Freedom and in front is the Filipino-American Friendship Park.

    Our tour guide said that American personnel of the garrison along with their family enjoyed watching movies at Cine Corregidor before the World War II broke out. The last movie that was shown was "Gone with the Wind" which starred Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh Moore. And i did watch that movie. Remember the famous line of Clark Gable.... " Frankly my dear I don't give a damn."

  • Battery Geary

    From a afar we can see Battery Geary. Our tour guide said it was a battery of eight 13-ton, 12 inch mortars. Defiladed in a hollow on Corregidor's Southern coast it was well protected from Japanese shelling.Read more

  • Corregidor Inn

    We had our lunch at La Playa Restaurant in Corregidor Inn. I sat beside the window to see the breathtaking view of the island while eating my meal. I was starving. The food was good. We were given an hour for lunch before we go back to the bus and see the rest of the island.Read more

    One of the main stops for the Corregidor Day Tour is the sprawling Flipino Heroes Memorial. Fourteen murals depicting heroic battles fought by Filipinos from the 15th century up to the present day.

  • Inside Malinta Tunnel

    The Malinta Tunnel is the last stronghold of the joint Philippine and American military prior to the Japaneses takeover during World War II, it is now home to an audio-visual presentation of the events that took place in the island. Entrance fee 200 pesos.Read more

  • Time to go home.

    It was time to to go home. We passed by Corregidor San Jose Chapel but we didn't go down. And back to our boat. At exactly 2:30pm we left Corregidor Island to Manila.

  • Off to my Two Days Trip to Vigan

    Waiting for bus to Vigan here in Partas Bus Terminal in Pasay City. We will leave at 8:30PM and it will be an 8 hour bus ride. The only problem is I can't sleep when I travel but I'll try to take a nap.

    Vigan is one of the seven wonder cities of the world and a UNESCO heritage.
