    Orsennes, Indre

    We have crossed into the Indre department and are staying the night in the little village of Orsennes, it has nice parkland, a communal lake and small commerce in the town....all the essentials...boulangerie, pharmacy and coiffeur 😉Meer informatie

    Bessais le Fromental, Cher

    We stood alone tonight in a beautiful area by a lake which in high season is bustling with water activities and campers. So we had it all to ourselves which especially pleased Niska who didn't hesitate to explore! We had a lovely hike around the lake.

    Vézelay, Yonne

    Vézelay is a defensible hill town famous for its 11th century Romanesque Basilica St. Mary Magdalene and is the starting point of the pilgrim route Via Lemovicensis (which we roughly followed in reverse).
    The Basilica is beautiful and looks like it is undergoing ongoing restoration. It's extremely well preserved.
    We stayed at the foot of the town overnight.    Meer informatie

    Gron, Yonne

    We found a nice village aire in Gron on the edge of a park and a nice little town.
    We are working our way north. The weather is starting to turn my autumnal

    Clermont, Oise

    Clermont is a beautiful town North of Paris.
    The town is built on a hill surmounted by a 14th century keep.
    It has numerous historic buildings, the earliest dating back to the 12th century which we discovered on our historic walk around the town.Meer informatie

    Vendeuil-Caply, Oise

    We are staying by the site of a Roman Theatre where excavations were carried out continuously between 1956 and 1986.
    We mostly had the place to ourselves for the day and night, it was very peaceful!

    Local Museum had a Halloween theme going on in its gardens

Close to main road and bus station (so not the quietest)

    Doullens, Somme

    We are staying in Doullens where we have an appointment with the vet to have Niska's travel document authorised for her return to the UK.
    It's been very wet today but we used our time around the appointment to explore the town which has a Citadel and other buildings of interest.Meer informatie
