Good first day back on trail with some good views . Lacked the stamina I had previously but was slowly getting better.

Walked into the town Waitomo was feeling a lot better and my knee didn't hurt. I then hitched to the town Te Kuiti where I spent a day off

Spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day catching up with a lot of familiar faces while waiting to set off on my canoeing adventure.

Got a hitch from Whanganui to Palmerston North. Stayed at Whiowhio hut and got ready to start my trek to the Tararuas
