I asked the store clerk about the population for the town of Scenic. His reply "5.25", which includes his dogs and a puppy. The quarter represents his puppy. I'm glad they sell diesel fuel.

Nothing but grass leading to Badlands National Park via Highway 44. Beautiful open spaces with the sky as the limit! We saw a herd of buffalo, but mostly cattle and a few horses.
