    day1: metlife stadium

    So for my first day in new york i went and left new york haha! I had a quick stop at times square on my way to penn station though, Pretty full on ha definitely an eye opener! I went to penn station and Caught the train to metlife stadium just followed the people wearing jets gear haha. Watched my first NFL game live, new york jets vs miami dolphins, jets came up winners 20-38 i think it was. Was a fair few touchdowns scored which was good. Was something different very much a stop start game though. for only 1 hour of play game goes for about 4 ha. Tried my first big pretzel looking thing and had a few bud lights.👌👌 (woulda been good selfie if old lass wasnt walking by)Leggi altro

    Day 2: central park!

    Well i got up n walked 50 metres from where in staying to central park. This place is fucking incredible, i loved it. It is huge! I spent over 3 hours and wouldve been lucky to see a a 5th of it. So much to see the views are amazing it's just beautiful. I walked up paths on one side i think i got about over half way. Then started making my way down the other side. Seen a few squirrels running a muck. I asked a information dude where the big one path is that you see on movies and he was like yeah thatd be here there actually filming today just walk down there then cutla turns think there doing some john wick 2 with keanu reeves. So i walked that way i came tl a tunnel n was about tp walk through n some lady stopped me and was like nah sorry we are filming here you will have to walk around i looked up and i could see keanu down other end. So yeah i walked around and watched about 6 takes of him walking up the stairs with his dog looks like hed just been fighting or something was struggling with a limp. Was keen to just stay but had spent fair bit of time in central park had to move on.Leggi altro

    Day 2: sight seeing

    Done a bus tour today got a few day pass. Went down town on thebway drove through time square, past madison square garden, the empire state building, UN nations, lots and lots of big shopping stores, macys seemed popular also seen brooklyn bridge hopefully get closer eventually. I hopped off downtown where i went for a walk and seen the 9/11 site and seen the bull, wall street, went to starbucks, seen the stock exchange building, went to the shore closest to the statue of liberty for a look, wwnt to starbucksgot my name spelt Toson. then jumped back on a bud and headed back to mid town where i then walked to madison square garden for NHL.Leggi altro

    Day 2: 9/11 memorial and museum

    I went to the memorial where the towers once stood. It was a really beautiful scene.. with all the names of the loves lost carved in around a big sqaure waterfall fountain looking thing was really breathtaking. I was sceptical about paying to go into museum but think brodie told me it was a must so i did. Very glad i did! I downloaded the app and had earphones on me so got to listen to Robert De Niro give me a tour of the place. It was really surreal.. you see beams where the plane crashed into, the foundation of the towers where they stood are still there, you enter this memorial bit where it has photos and names of all the lives lost. There touch screens where you can scroll through and click on someone and it has more photos and details of their life. You walk in another section and its video just going through one person at a time with family and friends talking about them, near the end you go into a big timelime sorta set up it has details on every thing from stsrt to finish. It shows video's of the news on the time it happened you can listen to audio of peoples voices on the plane delivering messages to loved ones and the police you can even hear the terrorists speaking in some directing the passangers. Telling them they are only going back to the airport. It was a really good experience.. glad i done it.Leggi altro

    Day 2: madison square garden

    I made my way to madison sqaure garden to watch my first NHL game was Carolina hurricanes vs new york rangers. Always have said i go for Rangers but would have no clue about them haha. Loved it found it alot more action packed and entertaining then the NFL. Had a few beers chatted with some champs next to me from new jersey. Was a good experience! there wasnt a full on biff tho was a few dirty hits and trips tho haha. Rangers got up 4-3. Highly recommend ice hockey to anyone visiting!Leggi altro

    Day 3: boat cruise

    Slept in abit today which wasnt planned ha. Weather wasnt perfect like last couple of days and they reckon itll be worse tomorrow. I went and done a sightseeing boat tour was allright went around the island and under the brooklyn and Manhattan bridge then back and out to the statue of liberty which looked awesome up close. The view of new york looked grest pity it was so cloudy n foggy couldnt see the tops of a few of the buildings.Leggi altro

    Day 4: Brooklyn

    2 dicembre 2015, Stati Uniti ⋅ 🌧 9 °C

    Today went for a tour of brooklyn in a bus, wasnt to bad seen few cool things. When i got back i got dropped off at city hall and decided I'd go for a walk out on the brooklyn bridge. You can get a sick view of the city from on it. Afterwards i went for a stroll through China town i thought i new my bearings but ended up well lost. After about 10 ks of walking i made my way to katzs deli which is pretty well known and has been in a few films. Got a pastrami sandwhich which was hugge franky b told me to get it. I made my way home after that, that night went through a stroll through central park and rode the subways round the city chilled at a few bars.Leggi altro

    Day 6/7/8 : washington DC

    6 dicembre 2015, Stati Uniti ⋅ ☀️ 5 °C

    We first arrived at Washington and went out for tea we then done a tour at night around to all the monuments and such, the Lincoln memorial was very impressive it looked unreal! We then headed home had couple drinks and called it a night. The following morning we had breakfast then caught the bus into town. We checked out the space musuem which i didnt find all that interesting really. Went to the holocaust musuem next which was fairly full on! Alot of very disturbing photos and videos. After the holocaust we needed a pick me up socwent for lunch n few beers. Ended up going home and everyone went out to shenanigans which was a fun night. Next day i didnt bother with anymore musuems. Lounged around until the nba which was washington wizards vs dallas mavericks. Was a close game with the mavericks winning by about 10 in the end.Leggi altro

    Day 9: washington/raleigh

    On the way out of washington we stopped at the arlington national cemetery which was a real eye opener 624 acres of gravestones. Seen JFKs gravesite and witnessed the changing of the gaurd at the tomb of the unknown soilder, which was really interesting to see the amount of detaik and rehearsal that goes into that. That night we stayed at raleigh and went out bowling and games which was good fun everyones starting to bond on the contiki.Leggi altro

    Day 10: savannah

    We left raleigh few hangovers throughout the group. We stopped at Charleston and had lunch and done a tour of the town with a local. That night we went to savannah and done a pub crawl, played pictionairy at the first joint which turned out to be bit of fun, next pub got bit more insane few shots n fireballs n mixes. Then we went to a pub few ppl got kicked out for being way to drunk ha. Was a fun night my roomie had a big one which was funny as.Leggi altro

    Day 11: st Augustine

    We done a walking tour of savannah seen a few squares which looked unreal. seen the spot where Forrest Gump sat on the bench but the bench had been moved into the local museum. We went to st Augustine that night the place actually liked amazing i only went for a quick walk around the town but deff had the chrissy spirit. Also can't believe how cheap alcohol is i boughy 1.75 L of bicardi oakheart for 19.99 back gome a 700ml bottle is 35. then we all chilled out under this big tree where we were standing and talked and had a laugh till early morning.Leggi altro

    Day 13: Miami

    11 dicembre 2015, Stati Uniti ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

    Miami what a sight! Just entering it looked unreal! We went straight tl a harbor which looked unreal. Nearly the whole contiki group got on a speedboat straight up, it was awesome deff a highlight of the trip!. We got a tour through islands passing alot of famous peoples houses which was really cool! Then went out to sea abit and cut sick which was fun as great start to miami!. We went to our hotel after that and got ready for a boat cruise. The boat cruise was great weather was great. Standing up on deck drinking n dancing with miami skyline in the background! After the boat cruise we went to some club could SET which was fairly shit drink prices were about 20 dollars a drink. We ended up leaving and making our way slowly home trying to look after raph who ended up loosing his phone also ha.Leggi altro

    Day 14: Miami

    Waking up in Miami went down had breaky in the hotel then decided to go wandering first we check locations for raphs phone then we decided to buy matching singlets for some unknown reason haha. We then checked out the beach which was aight, we went to some irish pub n had a few drinks and then few of us decided to go back to the beach and we decided to bury tom. We ended up slowly making our way back to our hotel to get ready for dinner and have few drinks on the rooftop. We all went to some cuban place for dinner which was really nice. We went to some pub to watch the UFC fight which wasnt worth the hype i ended up leaving before fight and not even watching it ha lucky it only lasted 23 seconds anyway. Chilled on rooftop for abit before calling it a night. Loved miami pity didnt get to explore more.Leggi altro

    Day 14 orlando

    We left Miami and started heading towards orlando. We stopped in at walmart which was cool to check out seeimg guns for sale in a normal store was strange and we made milton dress up an elf haha. That night we chilled abit went and played minigolf with the lads, me scott tom went together. I won beating scott just while tom was shit at it haha. We went to some buffalo place for tea which was unbelievable i got a sampler basket it had buffalo wings, mozeralla sticks, onion rings and nachos. Easily one or the best meals so far!. Went back to hotel and drank 2.25 dolla beers poolside which was nice way chill out.Leggi altro

    Day 15: universal studios, Orlando

    14 dicembre 2015, Stati Uniti ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

    Today we went to universal studios which was probably the highlight of contiki so far!. Road mostly every ride the two big rollercoasters were good fun. The harry potter place though wow. Fuckin loved it haha. Diagon alley was such a good set up with so many iconic things from the books every where. Was very tempted to buy a wand. There was a ride there which u out on 3d classes which was really cool. Actually looked like stuff was coming at you. Also tried so butter beer!. We caught the hogwarts express which was neat it took you too the other park where u hop off ar hogsmeade which was really neat also. But the ride there was fucking brilliant. It was amazing. You actually felt like u were flying around hogwarts it was super cool. We lined up and done it again. We went to jurassic park after which was allright bit outdated but still ok. Done a few water rides and fee superhero themed ones. After universal we just went home and chilled out poolside with few beers.Leggi altro

    Day 16: panama beach

    We left orlando and went to panama beach for the night, had a really good view over the beach. We all went down to the beach for some beers and played some footy (nfl type) which was good fun also scored the last touch down. That night we went to some german place for tea which was abit of fun. We then hit up a karaoke bar together which was good fun. Think i ended up singing about 6 songs.     day 17/18: New orleans

    16 dicembre 2015, Stati Uniti ⋅ 🌧 22 °C

    we arrived to new orleans and went out for dinner at some joint then went on a big of a pub crawl which was allright drank some deadly drinks called hand grenades! on our way home we lost raph who wandered off and wasnt seen till 12 pm next day with no phone or wallet but seemed ok musta passed out and got pick pocketed. the next day we went for lunch and got a po boy think it was called some famous food in new orleans. went for a walk seen few things checked out the french market, half our contiki were leaving that day a few stayed for that night though, we went yo mannings pub and met a few of the new contiki people and mingled abit. after the pub aboit 12 of the orginals went back and drank in a room for few hours which was good fun hanging with few people for the last time.Leggi altro

    day 19/20: memphis

    19 dicembre 2015, Stati Uniti ⋅ ☀️ 6 °C

    in the morning we said goodbye to the ones that hadnt left allready, lost a couple of gronks tom and raph who i hanged with alot and also sophie. so we now had 20 new people on the contiki so we hada day of introductions and stuff again. we got to memphis and we decided to go to the main strip for a few beers , the main strip was small but very bright. the firdt pub we went to we were all just chilling and then the power went off not just the pub but the whole street ha so we sat in the dark we made our way to the restaurant for tea where we werr about to have a candle lit dinner when the power finally came back on. after tea we went yo bb kings which was pretty cool listening to the local band playing. the next day we went to graceland (Elvis's home) which was cool to check out u got a tablet and headphones and done a tour at your own pa e throughout the house. Was a really nice house with plenty of themed rooms and got to see all his awards and costumes and such. never knew he was such a charitable guy also. After graceland we went and chilled for couple of hours and eventually went out to a pub for few games of 8 ball then tea before we all went to a NBA game. it wasmemphid grizzlies vs the pacers. the grizzlies won. after nba we went to some pub where there was a guns n roses cover band playing ended up having a fairly big night too.Leggi altro

    day 21/22: dallas

    20 dicembre 2015, Stati Uniti ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

    we left at 8am and arrived in dallas at about 5 so was a loong day of traveling. plenty of snapchats around the bus to keep us entertained. was a quiet first night in Dallas we went for tea, tried a deep fried chicken steak wasnt a big fan really. then about 12 of us went and watched the latest star wars, was an allright film i guess. the next morning we went to the JFK museum we went up to the floor where the sniper was sitting when he shot JFK you got to the window where he sat. was a lot of interesting reads and such there. we walked down on the grassy knoll and seen the X marks on the road where JFK was when he was shot all 3 times. after that we went to the AT&T stadium home of the texas cowboys. one of the biggest stadiums in the world. home of the biggest tv in the world! well at least in the northern hemisphere it was. was cool we got to go into the players rooms and all the cool suites was a cool place to check out. after that we went out to some old school Texas looking place and demolished some bbq ribs before al getting dropped off at this arcade pub with heaps of old school games and karaoke rooms which I had a fair crack at ha. it was an interesting walk home no one really knew the way we just knew we had to walk towards a big building cause we were near by it.Leggi altro
