We are fueled up and ready to head out first thing in the morning. This has been a nice stay. Super marina and nice town. Not touristy but very welcoming. And quiet! Very peaceful.

Traveler Gotta love learning about the small seaside towns while cruising. Good thing the weather is bad to take advantage of time ashore.
Traveler I geek out over that stuff. James calls me the point man because I’m always off exploring. Every trip to shore no matter where we are has something to offer. And with a dog that’s 3x a day.
Traveler You are in a part of the World dear to my heart. We lived a few hundred feet from the James River, about halfway between Richmond and Petersburg, where I was stationed at Fort Lee , Kenner Army hospital in 1967 to 1969. We traveled the rivers and bays in a 14' runabout, and I raced sailboats out of Fishing Bay Yacht Club, Deltaville. VA. We also spent time on the Eastern Shore, where my Aunt had a waterfront home in Rehoboth, Del. In 1983 we spent most of the winter at a commercial dock / Waterside, Norfolk, VA. aboard our 62' Ketch we sailed to Europe, as I recovered from back surgery. We are still in touch with wonderful people from our days in that area. Lots to see there...Great on taking it slow!
Traveler We passed Waterside on our way to the James River. We’re not going to be doing the Chesapeake justice since I need to be in Annapolis by Sunday for a week conference in College Park. It will have to be a return trip someday. It’s a huge watershed. We could easily do 3 months here and still not see and do all there is.
