Es ist erlösend: am frühen Morgen nach dem Gitarrenfestival erwache ich vom Geräusch des Regens, der auch in dieser glutheißen Woche mit Temperaturen bis zu 32 Grad gut getan hätte. Das leise Plätschern verstärkt das Gefühl von Erfüllung. Gestern Abend noch zwei Einheiten unterschiedlicher Art und dann Abschiede, die verbliebenen Bilder von der Wand pflücken, alle Pinsel, Stifte und Farben einpacken und eine letzte Nachtfahrt über die stillen Wiesen mit einem Dreiviertelmond.
Andrew Yorks Spiel hat Momente, die mich glücklich machen und in die Ferne transportieren. Er ist ganz in seiner Musik und aus dieser Konzentration fließen unverstellte melodiöse Erzählungen.
Connor Selby spielt mit großem Aufbau, aber an mir geht sein Konzert vorbei. Ich widme seiner Combo noch ein Gruppenbild und dann sind meine Akkus leer. Gutes Timing eigentlich, oder?
Neunundsiebzig Werke sind in dieser Woche entstanden… keine schlechte Bilanz! LG

It’s a relief: early in the morning after the guitar festival, I wake to the sound of rain—something that would have been a blessing during this sweltering week with temperatures reaching up to 32 degrees. The soft patter enhances the feeling of fulfillment. Last night, there were still two very different sessions and then farewells, taking down the remaining paintings from the wall, packing up all the brushes, pens, and paints, and one final nighttime drive across the quiet meadows under a three-quarter moon.

Andrew York's playing contains moments that make me happy and transport me to faraway places. He is completely immersed in his music, and from this deep focus flow unfiltered melodic stories.

Connor Selby plays with a lot of buildup, but his concert doesn’t resonate with me. I dedicate one last group sketch to his band, and then my energy is spent. Perfect timing, really, isn’t it?

Seventy-nine works were created this week... not a bad outcome! The first buyer sent me a photo showing where the "Joni Mitchell of today" is now hanging in her home. If people could see another aspect of music in my drawings, and if these now bring joy and memories of a beautiful experience to the new owners in their homes, then I’m happy!Read more
