Biosphere 2

Biosphere 2 was a three-acre sealed structure that was used for two closed-system experiments: 1991 to 1993 and March to September 1994. The experiments encountered several problems, including: Low food and oxygen levels, Animal and plant die-offs, Interpersonal tensions among the crew.

Today it is a laboratory with active research systems from ocean to desert environments.
