    25. april 2025, Hellas ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

After a morning of scrubbing bouys and engine checks we set off to the little island of Schinoussa to pick up a few supplies. Seems we had the best of the weather as rained on route and we could hear a thunderstorm over Naxos to the north. On arrival the harbour was empty so we settled in for a beer before walking up to the Chora for dinner and supplies.
Lovely quiet night , only spoiled by the 3 ferries 5pm, 3am and 7am. Note to self don't come back on a Friday!

  • Naxos

    27. april 2025, Hellas ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

Holidays over for now, we head back to Naxos where we are going to leave Carla for 3 weeks. A great sail North , dodging fast catamaran and ferry's only to have to wait to moor whilst they all fought for the Quay! Moored up safely, 2 lazylines and double warps at the back as a big blow on its way. Laundry all done so we headed off to a hotel Monday night before flying home Tuesday!Les mer

  • Back to Naxos we go

    19.–21. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ 🌙 18 °C

Leaving home early Eric had to have his last meal at Gatwick as always - Chicken wings snd chips! We arrived in Athens late so stayed over in Airbnb before taking a small jet plane to Naxos in the morning. A quick transfer and we were on the beach with cool refreshments by 2pm.Les mer

  • Naousa - Paros

    21. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ 🌙 20 °C

Once we had cleaned Carla up as she was covered in red dust we headed off. A short trip across to Paros to mske sure everyyhing wasvstill working. All good so we anchored off and planned to go ashore for dinner. Pumped up the dinghy but couldn't get the outboard working! Eric stripped it down but still no joy so Tuna pasta for supper!Les mer

  • Mykonos

    22. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Despite being told not to bother we headed north to check Mykonos out hoping to see some of the islands history. Wind disappeared so Eric decided to get his fishing rod out to pass the time! Arriving in Mykonos the first thing we saw was a cruise liner shortly followed by 3 more! Obviously lots of others had the same idea. Whilst lifting the dinghy earlier we thought we would try and find the small leak as she seemed to be going down slowly . Mission successful as we found fine shingle in the bow - repair kit needed!
First impressions of the island not good - very expensive and arrogant. First time we have seen security guards in bars! Expensive dinner but just ok.

  • Off to Syros

    24. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

An early start so we could stop at Delos to see the old ancient ruins but on arrival we couldn't get in close enough with Carla. Still having dinghy issues we decided to head to a bay in Rineia for breakfast before sailing to Syros.Les mer

  • Syros

    24.–26. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Safely moored up we headed out for an early cocktail and realised we were in the middle of a local 10km family run! Nearly signed Eric up but he found a beer too quickly!
Early night and good sleep until we were rudely awakened by our anchor being dragged by a departing boat at 7am. 2 hours of mayhem followed as several boats all tangled up! A swift boat clean before Lisa and Jordan arrived at 11.15, bringing with them the NSW rain. Hopefully we can show them some Greek sunshine tomorrow. Meanwhile a lazy wet afternoon catching up over a few beers and dinner.Les mer

  • Syros - Varis Bay

    26. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

After a very uncomfortable night with the swell in the harbour we were all up early and ready to go. Not sure879 where we woud end up but just needed to move somewhere calm so we headed off to Varis bay until the strong winds had passed through. We had lunch and Jordan and I decided to explore the bay by canoe to see if there was somewhere for dinner if we didn't move on. Reconnaissance done and a few options so we decided to stay put and chill.Les mer

  • Serifos - Livadiou

    27. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Wind had calmed down so we headed west to Serifos expecting the waters to still be lumpy but we had a lovely sail. After a short stop for a swim and late lunch we headed into Livadiou. Eric and I stopped here briefly on 2024 but didn't really recognise it. Quaint little harbourLes mer

  • Sifnos - Kimares

    28. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

After our work we untied the ropes and set off to Sifnos. An easy sail but on arrival the Quay was full so we had to anchor off. It soon became apparent that there was a local festival happening. This involved the icon of Panagia Chrysopigi being transferred across the Island by land and then sailed back to the otherside by boat escorted by a flotilla of boats! The icon was then carried onto the boat by several priests and foghorns blaring! All very respectful and big parties after at the Kastro when it arrived in the chapel. Apparently the most famous day in Sifnos. Once all the commotion was over we headed out for a cool drink.Les mer

  • Tour of Sifnos

    29. mai 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Deciding to take a tour of the Island we headed off to hire a scooter and quad bike. Had to take a car instead as Aussie driving licence not accepted much to the annoyance of Jordan! We visited Apollonia, then onto Kastro for a swim and lunch, Chrisopig to see the icon, then to the top of the Island to Cheronisos before heading back to the chapel of Simeon to look down on the harbour of Kamares.Les mer

  • Stormbound in Sifnos

    30. mai–2. jun. 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Wind picked up overnight and looked like it was here to stay so we headed for the beach! Worse places to be!
Disappointed we weren't going to make it any further Lisa booked a ferry back to Athens for Saturday.
Ruth and Stu due to arrive in Paros but unfortunately we could not get there so hotel for them until plans changed!

  • Kimilos

    2. juni 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Great to be moving again we head South to Kimilos - a new island for us. Lots of chalk mining going on and when we arrived at Rema Bay there was a lot of small caves in the rocks with doors! Look like fisherman stores! After a swim and cool off we strolled up the hill of supper.Les mer

  • Folegrandos - Karavostasis

    3. juni 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

A lovely sail along to Vathi but the swell was too large to stop. We carried on east and headed up to Karavostasis for better protection. A fab little bay with a selection of bars and restaurants to explore so we dropped anchor. The evening a shore was very eventful, eating in a little restaurant that only took cash (another story) then followed by a row home in a very deflated dinghy, at a very inflated volume!Les mer

  • Ios

    4. juni 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Heading off from Folegandos with a lovely sail but the wind soon dropped once we got behind the island of Sikinos so we had to motor. Popping out the other side we hoisted sails again and arrived in Ios by 4pm. After mooring alongside we were asked to move so ended up on the Quay right next to the coffee shop. All good in the morning. After a light snack we headed up up to the Chora for an amazing sunset.Les mer

  • Paros Faragas

    5. juni 2025, Hellas ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

With the winds due to pick up we headed north to make sure Ruth and Stu could get there ferry tomorrow. Faranga bay a quiet spot with a beach club in it worked well for a canoe outing and a special pre birthday dinner.Les mer

  • Kea-Otzias

    3.–4. okt. 2025, Hellas ⋅ 🌬 21 °C

After a noisy night tied to the Quay in Lavrion, we headed out to Kea to find a bay sheltered from the Southerly blow forecast tonight.
Well worth the trip as this bay is lovely and calm with a sandy beach and bar for dinner.Les mer
