    Transfer to Poros via Athens and Rafina

    Last day by the pool and off to airport at 1pm. Waved off the kids and hopped on a flight to Athens. Over night stop, pick up a hire car and Ruth and Stu who have flown in to join us on board Carla for a week. Lovely evening in Athens with fantastic view over the Petalor Gulf.Read more

    Heading off in the car to Galatas we made a quick stop at the Corinth canal for our daily history lesson. A quick lunch stop at Galatos before taking the Ferry to Poros.

    A lovely evening in the old Greek town of Poros then we headed off to Aegina via cool lunchtime swim.

    A very swelly night so a lazy start after a morning coffee in the village. Heading off to Agistri we found a lovely quiet lunch stop. An easy mooring in the lovely harbour but someone spilt diesel so a tad smelly. Only option was to head out for cocktails!

    No wind so a gentle motor to a lovely lunch stop on Nisida Kyra before heading to Vathi. Such a cute place we decided to stay for a second night and have a lazy day!

    A great sail back to Poros with Stu at the helm. Planning to go to Poros we headed off but wind was against us so we diverted to Aegina. On arrival we couldn't get in so had to set off again for Poros!Read more

    Change over day

    An early start for all as Ruth and Stu had to catch the 8.05 ferry back to Athens from Poros. Interesting day as the Greek jetski championship was in the harbour so had to move the boat to wait for Andy and Jane to arrive ar 3pm.
    Quick clean of the boat before cherky beers with our new guests on arrival.    Read more

    Dokos

    A good sail for our first day out with Andy and Jane on board. Headed South to Dokos and A&J had their first lesson on Greek mooring to the shore with long lines. A lovely swim minus Andy followed by a quiet evening aboard. An intro to "Shits" - the favorite boat card game had Jane very excited! Lots of wildlife as we spotted donkeys, goats and a bluebird we thought was a Kingfisher.Read more

    Kyparissi

    We headed off to Spetses but decided we had such good wind we would get the Asymmetric out and aim further afield to Kyparissi. With the crew all primed we hoisted and had a fab fast sail all the way. Deciding to settle in Chapel Cove we had a 30 min walk into the village for dinner through a lovely pine forest. Easy going but an interesting walk back by torchlight.
    Unfortunately the wind picked up and changed direction so a very sleepless night and an early departure as it was so uncomfortable. We headed over to the other side of the bay (Jane's choice the night before!)and had a lovely quiet breakfast over looking the village.    Read more

    A late start after a lazy morning recovering from the bumpy night. Checking the weather we decided to abandon the plans to head south to Monemvasia as a force 7 wind was forecast over the next few days. It would be a quick sail down but a hard sail back to drop Andy and Jane off on Saturday.
    Wind still blowing strong we reefed down and headed out towards Tyros, further North up the coast. A short stop at lunchtime for a swim and a beer on the beach - amazing what it takes to get Andy in the water!
    A busy harbour on arrival but we pushed our way in over a lazy line and settled down for a calm evening.    Read more

    After a morning stroll to pick up beer and water we headed off to Tolo and on arrival it was very disappointing. Change of plans to Vivari which was much less commercialised and had a lively night at anchor.Read more

    With strong winds forecast again we decided to stay in the Argolic gulf and head to Astros. Needless to say 30 mins into the sail and there was nothing. So on went the motor - good news, fridge went on so cold beers. Arriving mid afternoon we headed out for a walk up to the ruins of the castle.Read more

    Another day playing with sails. No wind, even tried to get the Asymmetric up but couldn't fill it! But as always it kicked in as we are trying to berth-always good fun!

    Left to our own devices we decided to head to Spetses as wind was supposed to have dropped!! Needless to say after we stuck our bow around the headland it was no go. The swell in the harbour was to great so think it will be by ferry in April.
    Headed off for a lunchtime swim then back to Kilada to start the layup.    Read more

    After a bumpy night with strong gusts coming through we made an early start and got the sails off. Ropes pulled through and washed, stainless steel polished and lockers sorted.

    Early wake up as lifting any time from 8am! Finally lifted at 11.45 so plenty of time for admin and last minute faffing! All done by 7pm so off out for final Greek beer and scoff!
