Today we arrived in Piraeus, Athens, and made our way straight to the legendary Acropolis. The climb up the steep steps (alongside what felt like half of Europe’s tourists!) was well worth it, although the crowds were suffocating—the view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. Standing by the massive ancient structures was amazing, especially the amphitheatre, which once held around 16,000 spectators. Afterwards, we wandered through the charming Plaka District—so colourful, lively, and full of character. We stumbled upon the city’s oldest bar, where they still distill their own Ouzo. Naturally, we couldn’t resist picking up a sample bottle (plus some Limoncello for good measure). A beer, an Ouzo, and a glass of wine later, I was happily fluffy and suggested it was time to return to the Mothership to get ready for dinner. Cue photos! Nearly 11,000 steps today—well earned.Leer más
