Another big walking day today! We arrived at Dubrovnik Port around 7am, had breakfast, and set off on our tour of the Old Town at 8:45. Beautiful 12th century medieval streets and incredibly preserved structures, narrow cobbled streets spilling out from the main square, full of charm and history. The city is famous for its many appearances in *Game of Thrones*, including the iconic “walk of shame” scene. It is spectacularly surrounded by a towering medieval wall (which we walked around). The main point of entry, the Pile Gate, once employed a drawbridge to keep invaders out. The peaceful 14th centry Fraciscan Monastery and Apothecary, house the world oldest working pharmacy and fine collection of Renaissance paintings.

After taking all of this in, we walked the entire length of the city walls, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. From there, we took the cable car up to the summit, where we were treated to spectacular panoramas—sparkling Adriatic Sea on one side, dramatic mountains on the other. Absolutelty magnificent.

Once back down, we made our way to a little bay we’d spotted earlier from the walls. We had our very first swim in the Adriatic Sea, and it was divine! The water was crystal-clear, filled with schools of fish, and perfect for floating. I only wished I’d brought a mask and snorkel. I even convinced Pete to join me for a dip—and I have photographic evidence of him enjoying it!

I could have stayed there all afternoon, but eventually the bar on the ship beckoned. We hopped on the shuttle bus back, straight to the pool deck for a slushy cocktail and a cold beer to round out the day. And yes, we enjoyed another amazing meal for dinner!
