• Wangārei - Russell 🏝

    September 2 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

We were up early to drive the last of the journey to Paihai to catch a ferry over to Russell.

On our way, we stopped off at Wangārei Falls, which is probably the best waterfall we've seen since being in NZ. What made it even better was that it was only a 5 minute walk down and up!

We managed to arrive in Paihai just in time to get the passenger ferry over to Russell. Once we were there, we grabbed some brunch and explored the historic town. We saw the oldest church in New Zealand and did one of our favourite pass times (obviously wandering around the cemetery).

There wasn't too much more to see, so after a couple of hours, we headed back over to Paihai, where we did a food shop and headed to our campsite.

We've got a cruise around the bay of Islands tomorrow - Mhari's level of excitement = 8/10, Callums level of excitement = 2/10!
