• Waitangi - Red Beach 🇦🇺

    September 5 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Today was our last full day in the van before we dropped it off. Wow, where has the time gone!

Because of this, it really would be rude not to visit the Waitangi Treaty grounds. This was a museum/educational grounds that provided all the information about the history of New Zealand and the Māori people.

From someone who usually loses interest after 2 minutes when it comes to having to stop every 2 seconds to read every single sign and photo in order to get the information, this was surprisingly very interesting. Admittedly I was very happy that they had TV rooms showing documentaries as well, so win win.

Due to the fact we were still 3 1/2 hours away from Auckland, we decided to do the majority of the drive today in order to give us more time and less stress when it comes to packing our bags and cleaning the van up tomorrow.

As a result of this, when we checked in and got parked up at our last caravan park, we wandered down the shops and got ourselves a so-called children's meal to cook in the kitchen facilities (fake nuggets, chips and beans).

The last wash was complete and dry, the majority of the packing was complete, rocky 4 was on! What more could you ask for to finish off our most amazing adventure in our home on wheels!
