Banh Mi & Hoa Lo Museum & Train Street

First Stop after coffee was brunch at a Vegan Banh Mi place. It was in a hidden spot in a back alley and were the only customers but it was very yummy. The story of the place is really cute and we were happy to support it. Next stop was Hoa Lo Prison known during the US Vietnam war as “ Hotel Hilton”. It was really interesting to see how it was first used to imprison Vietnamese revolutionaries during the French Colonialism built in 1896. During the Vietnam war it was used to “ make the POWs see the Vietnamese perspective”. Obviously with the perspective of the current government.
The famous train street has a genius business model for tourists, you can only enter with an escort of a cafe in the street. But the beer was maybe 1.70€ with a great view. Unfortunately no trains were coming so we might return another day. In the evening we headed to a great vegan restaurant called “ Katze” where we did get kind of whatever was cooked. Finished the day with a rooftop bar drink and some dancing.Leggi altro
