    Now it was time to go back to the apartment, while walking through the other part of Kaunas, after the last picture I decided to use an eletrical scooter again to get back to the apartment. (Maybe taking a day pass in Vilnius to travel around)

    I woke up early and after having a coffee, I wanted to go to the other side of the Nemuna river because it looked more mountainous and I had enough time anyway. On my way, on the bridge, I saw a funicular that was build in the 1930s and when I was up the mountain, you could see the entire city of Kaunas.

    Left the appartment around 11:40 and found some dutch name on the main street, after walking for 20 min, I arrived at the train station whrre it was a bit of a labyrinth to get to the right platform. Also found some dutch people walking even tho they spoke english back to me when I said something haha.
    Heb het appartement verlaten rond 11:40 en ik vond een Nederlandse naam om de straat. Na 20 minuten gewandeld te hebben, kwam ik op het treinstation aan waar het een klein doolhof was om op het juiste perron te komen. Ik hoorde ook mensej Nederlands praten maar ze zeiden iets in engels terug toen ik iets zei.    Read more

    I saw online that there was a bike rental service in the city so I decided to rent one to just relax while biking and to get everywhere faster. It is sometimes difficult to find a place to place the bike tho.

    To end the day I wanted to go to Vintis Park. Apparantly it is a very popular location for picnica and (sport)events with an amphitheater to top it off.

    Žvėrynas district, known for its ornate timber house. There isnt a lot to do in this district besides walking near the river and a shopping center in the north. But I decided to go through on my way back to the appartment.

    This is one of the many national museums in Vilnius and this one was about history as the name suggest, however I thought it would go more in history like: how was Lithuania founded? How was there time in the USSR? But first floor was all about conspiracy theories nowadays and in the previous centuries and 2nd floor was about the migration of people and lithuanians. The following subjects are presented:

    Was looking around the streets of my appartment and first I saw a anime store, then I saw there was a mall close by. Inside the mall I saw a mountain and that you could go to a terrace on the roof, where I ate something quick and then took these pics

    A little park in the city center near the university. The signs told a lot about the history of Latvia after the first republic and made some flowers the symbol of that event and then there was a exposition at the center which talked about Latvia during ww2 and how they were affected by it and the current correlation with Ukraine.

De borden vertelde een verhaal over de geschiedenis van Letland na de 1ste republiek en hadden sommige planten een symbolische betekenis gegeven.
