A day at the office behind me. Instead of going home, I take the train to Basel Airport. Destination is a small converted church in Amsterdam... which will be my hotel next night. I have 1 day off, a little more than 24h.
What is possible in this time span?
Let's find out.
At 17.30 sharp the train leaves. I will be at the airport around 2h before departure. Takeoff at 20.45. land at 22.15.

At least that was the plan... maybe it is because of the cheap airline, because the flight has already an hour delay..Read more

20:28, the night train Amsterdam Basel leaves the station.
Poffejets smell on my lap. On the last meters before the night train Milena has found a stand where I could buy them. Without Grand Manier, but at least with cinnamon and sugar. For me a typical Dutch dish...
24h ago I was at the airport in Basel. So what is all possible in one day?
At midnight with the daughter on her 20th birthday toast. Listening to her stories and her life together with her father until late at night. To spend the night in a pod in a converted church. Enjoying brunch as a family together with Milena's family. Then exploring the city by hop on/off bus. A stop for a drink should not be missing. Together we opened the Escape Room 18 minutes before the end... and then went to the Apero with enough snacks.
