• Day 31 Porto

    May 3 in Portugal ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

I arrived at the hostel at 9:30 last night. Man google maps sometimes gives you strange directions. Last night I looked in back of me a few times because it sent me to a strange part of town but maybe it's different in the dark!
Porto is a lovely town with a very historic old part and there are lots of people. Definately somewhere to return for a better look. Pilgrims start here for the Portuguese Camino. Met a few Canadians, it's nice to talk to people from home.
Most Portuguese speak english, at least a bit, so it makes life easier. Even finding the right train coach and seat can be difficult if no one speaks english and Portuguese is a difficult language to understand.
Got back to the hostel just before the rain to prepare my lunch. If you don't eat in restaurants and prepare your own meals, food is very cheap here and in Spain.
Gonna wait for the rain to stop then head back out to wander a bit. Just a little wander and noticed the restaurant prices are much higher than Spain..maybe because this is a tourist city?
John I'm going to WhatsApp you a text message tomorrow when boading the plane in Germany, I think about 1pm.
