    Te Anau

    Today we drove from Wanaka to Te Anau after breakfast at around 9 a.m. As soon as we arrived in Te Anau, we decided to visit the bird sanctuary and took a walk at the Te Anau Lake. In the afternoon we went to a restaurant in the town and then sat at the lake for a while.

    We’ve booked a full day tour for tomorrow that takes us to the Milford Sound fjord. We’re already very exited about it 😊

    Wir sind heute nach dem Frühstück um ca. 9 Uhr von Wanaka nach Te Anau gestartet. In Te Anau angekommen, haben wir uns dazu entschieden den Vogelpark zu besuchen und einen Spaziergang am Lake Te Anau zu machen. Am Nachmittag waren wir dann noch kurz im Ort um etwas zu essen und saßen dann noch gemütlich am See.

    Für morgen haben wir eine ganztägige Tour gebucht, die uns an die Fjordlandschaft Milford Sound führt. Wir freuen uns schon sehr darauf 😊.     Czytaj więcej

    Milford Sound Tour: Part 1

    Today we took part in an 8 hour tour that started in Te Anau, with many photo stops to Milford Sound and then back to Te Anau. Afterwards we drove from Te Anau to Queenstown. As soon as we arrived, we just had a quick meal and now we are already in bed. We are looking forward to a relaxing day here in Queenstown tomorrow.

    Heute haben wir an einer 8 Stunden langen Tour teilgenommen die in Te Anau begann, mit vielen Foto-Stopps nach Milford Sound und dann wieder zurück nach Te Anau führte. Danach sind wir von Te Anau nach Queenstown gefahren. Als wir ankamen, haben wir nur schnell etwas gegessen und liegen nun bereits im Bett.     Queenstown

    We’ve had a very chilled day today, after our long few weeks we thought we’d take a day off from planning and just walked around Queenstown, going from different coffee shops and doing a little bit of shopping. Tomorrow we have the morning in Queenstown and then we have a 4 hour journey to our next stop (Timaru), so we’re enjoying some downtime!

    Wir hatten heute einen recht entspannten Tag in Queenstown. Nach den vielen Touren/Fahrten dachten wir, dass wir uns heute einfach einen Tag frei nehmen. Wir sind lediglich ein wenig durch den Ort geschlendert und haben einige Male in verschieden Cafés eine Pause eingelegt. Morgen Vormittag sind wir noch in Queenstown und dann gehts in einer 4-stündigen Fahrt zu unserer nächsten Station (in der nahe von Timaru).     Czytaj więcej

    From Queenstown to Timaru

    After breakfast this morning we went for a walk on Lake Wakatipu. At about 11:30 a.m. we drove towards Timaru. We took a few breaks during the journey, including at Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo. The two lakes have an unusual and quite striking blue water.

    Here is the Wikipedia explanation for it:

    [...The glacial feed to the lakes gives them a distinctive blue colour, created by glacial flour, the extremely finely ground rock particles from the glaciers.]

    Heute morgen haben wir nach dem Frühstück zuerst einen Spaziergang am Lake Wakatipu gemacht und sind dann um ca. 11:30 Uhr in Richtung Timaru gefahren. Während der Fahrt haben wir einige Pausen eingelegt, u.a. am Lake Pukaki und am Lake Tekapo. Die beiden Seen haben ein ungewöhnlich- und recht auffällig blau strahlendes Wasser.

    Christchurch

    This morning after breakfast we drove from Timaru to Christchurch. In Christchurch we had something to eat, visited the the botanical garden and briefly took a look at the Canterburry Museum. Afterwards we went to the hotel and now we’ll just relax a bit before our return flight tomorrow!

    Heute morgen sind wir nach dem Frühstück von Timaru nach Christchurch gefahren. In Christchurch haben wir etwas gegessen, uns den botanischen Garten angeschaut und kurz das Canterburry Museum angeschaut.     On the way home

    We’re just waiting for our flight to Frankfurt.

    In New Zealand it would be around 3:30 in the morning, so we’re really fighting sleep at the moment. Just 1 hour and then we’re back in the air again!

    Warten nun auf den Anschlussflug nach Frankfurt.

    In Neuseeland wäre es knapp 03:00 Uhr morgens. Dementsprechend müde sind wir gerade und kämpfen damit, nicht einzuschlafen. Noch 1 Stunde und dann geht es los. ❤     Czytaj więcej
