• Bridges of Ross walk

    10. august 2024, Irland ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

We didn't walk the bridges last night as we were late getting to them, so decided to wait until morning and then we could see them properly.

It was a really good call. Not only was it daylight but it was also sunny and absolutely beautiful!

We walked and played for ages and got some really good footage on the bridge itself too.

They were originally three rock arches that spanned deep coastal incisions like bridges. Nowadays there is only one of these “bridges” – the other two dropped to the sea. It's really interesting how they're formed too, the relentless waves basically find weak spots in the stone and wear it away, sometimes forming arches below the surface that you're able to walk on. Resulting in 'bridges' which eventually also get eroded away and fall into the sea.
