Getting to Germany

Yesterday (21st December) we set off at 12:00am at midnight on the bus to make our way to Germany. We managed to get some sleep on the overnight bus and arrived in Hamburg around 8:00am the next morning. There were some delays with the trains due to the recent storms around here but we managed to get a connection and arrived in Kiel in the afternoon. First stop was the Christmas markets (of course) have to make the most of the best ones 😁 and we are glad we did because the Baumstriezel was delicious 🥰

We’ve been busy here preparing for the big journey tomorrow as we make our way to Norway! Very excited for the week ahead 🇳🇴Read more

Getting to Norway

As planned, we set off at 6:15am with the van packed up and ready to go! Once the sun came out it was nice to see the rolling hills through Denmark 🇩🇰

The ferry was probably the coolest part of the day so far, with lots of endless North Sea views. It was fun to explore the ship and play some card games to kill time. Once arrived in Norway, we had another 4 hours to go before reaching Nesbyen. It’s very snowy, very cold (-15 degrees currently) and very pretty! I can’t wait to wake up to see it all in the daylight 😁

Merry Christmas from us to you 🎄❤️

Today has been a winter wonderland! We had a slow morning and then headed out to explore in the snow. It’s really magical seeing the snow covered trees and houses. We had lots of fun sliding down the hills on the sleigh and sometimes falling off was just as fun 😆

We had a beautiful evening filled with yummy food, drinks, games and gift giving. It was really nice to experience a Duda-Langer Christmas here. I couldn’t ask for a better first winter Christmas in Europe 🌟🤗Read more

Snow day

Today we woke up to a beautiful clear day! Really nice to see the hills more in the distance and to see how pretty the snow is everywhere ⛄️ We all headed out to the ski field in the afternoon. Josh and I tried cross country skiing for the first time (my first time ever doing a snow sport) it was pretty challenging, especially if you lack good balance (like myself) and it takes awhile to get used to the feeling of sliding on the snow. But we had fun and Sabine was patient with us, and both Josh and Sabine were very helpful with me. Falling over is all a part of the fun…😁🧘🏻‍♂️⛷️🎿Read more

Cross country skiing

Today we woke up to another beautiful day here in Norway ⭐️ Josh and I decided to head out on the cross country skis after breakfast, this time we decided on a loop track right near where we are staying. I was told it would be ‘mostly flat’ but after one wrong turn it was quite the opposite. It was a very challenging day but we managed okay, Josh even got the hang of going down the steeper hills without falling over 😄 Another great day of learning how to do snow sports, success!Read more

Sunny day

Woke up to yet another beautiful day here! Clear blue sky and lots of sun ☀️ today I went for a walk to Nystølen which was very nice, lots of stunning views.

Josh was gifted a ski pass from his parents so he went up to the slopes today which was very cool! After lots of practice on the small slopes, Josh eventually went down from the top twice! 🏔️🎿 lots of fun!!Read more

Another day in this winter wonderland! Today was very chill and relaxing, as there was quite a lot of snow overnight. Josh and I went for a walk around the area and got to soak up all the amazing views of the freshly snow covered trees, it never gets old ⛄️❄️Read more

Today is our last full day here which is sad...
It has been an amazing time away experiencing a real winter Christmas holiday. We enjoyed a walk to Nystølen today to check out the cafe/area there. The walk probably took longer than last time because the snow was thicker and harder to walk through. We tried a yummy pastry and had hot drinks ☺️
