Gisborne

A sunny Sunday morning in Gisborne. This was the first place in NZ that captain Cook landed in 1769. He left empty handed and called it ‘poverty bay’. The Cook connection seems to have produced a friendship between NZ and Canada. One thing we have seen is multiple names for the same place - at least in English and Māori languages.Lue lisää
