Lello Bookstore

We waited outside in the rain for more than 20 minutes to see this place. It is a nice bookstore, but crowded.
Sites around Porto

Our last day in Porto was damp, cold and rainy. Our main objective was to see the bookstore.
We took a few pictures and then went out for a nice dinner at a traditional Portuguese restaurant .
Leaving for Tavira

This is an early start. Our train is scheduled to leave at 05:32. We Uber to the train station and don’t see it listed on the departures. There is nobody around to ask about the status of our train.En savoir plus
Wow, we love Tavira!

Tavira is a charming former fishing village. It also has a castle, so I guess that makes it important as well.

Lots to see as we walk about.
Seven Hanging Valley’s Hike

We are still hiking….

Bengal beach. The hike is scenic but slower than Dianne and I like to go. We stop a lot and Nuna talks about the sights. He has to say things in two languages so it can be long winded.
Still hiking…Alfanzina Lighthouse

We have covered around half the distance for the day. It is around 25 degrees. A faster pace would be great.
Getting close to the end

Bengali beach. Nice views. A bathroom would be a welcome sight.
Praia da Marinha

Finally at the end. The hike was about 9 kilometre and it took over 5 1/2 hours. Great views and scenery but we stood around a lot.
On to Lagos

A quick train trip North and we are in Lagos. As you can see I brought Tom the “happy camper”! It was not really that quick, we changed trains in Faro and continued up the coast. Three hours orEn savoir plus
Around town

Ponta da Piedade

Here we go again! Dianne has another great idea! Boat ride to see the caves! Sounds ok but in reality it was one fun 75 minutes! It was neat to see the caves like the ones we walked over in ourEn savoir plus
More pics from boat trip

Pretty coastline as you can see. This was a nice trip with little fanfare. No long winded safety briefing, no sales pitch for anything. Just the facts.
Last pics of caves

I said there were a few pictures! It was pretty cool as the ocean was a little rough and our captain no difficulty maneuvering us into and out of the caves, sometimes it made for quite a ride, for meEn savoir plus
Afternoon of browsing

What a gorgeous day to browse. Lagos has many local musicians striking up a tune outside the shops, restaurants are busy, many tourists and locals enjoying the day outside.

Back to Lisboa

Our last day, we had a drink by the pool, joined by Toms friend. Dianne calls the seagull in the picture my friend but really it's only an acquaintance. I gave it one crumb of corn and the next thingEn savoir plus
