Artillery Ridge Campground & Horse Park

"Well, that looks expensive." The first, and only, thing our neighbor said to me during our stay here.

We had reserved a nice spot in the corner of the campground, but it turned out the water was off there for the winter. And we needed water. So, they moved us in among a cluster of families who seemed to be living there long-term.

It was one of those moments that you think a lot about later, trying to concoct a more perfect response. I had merely shrugged, which I guess was fine. But what if I'd been fast enough to say something really sharp and witty, maybe like, "expensive is as expensive does." No, probably not that.

It turned out to be a decent stay. There was a guy behind us from New Jersey. I wasn't expecting that accent in Gettysburg. He and his wife like to travel with their two horses, to go riding. I didn't realize that's a thing, but now I know.Meer informatie
