Lunch at Mien Tay

As we continued our journey through the Mekong Delta, we stopped for lunch at Mien Tay and then watched a side operation make coconut candy. The Delta was really cool, it reminded me of the Atchafalaya swamp down in Louisiana with one main river and then countless side rivers, tributaries, pathways that lead to people's homes or interests to villages.

We took a sampan, a traditional flat bottom wooden boat, from the fruit farm through the mangroves to a dock. Then walked down a beautiful path lined with coconut trees to get on a Xe Lambro, a three-wheeled vehicle similar to auto rickshaws in India. Lunch was fun, we sat right on the water and reserved a whole fish, which luckily the gentleman picked for us to put inside spring rolls with greens, herbs, and pineapple.Читать далее
