  • Playing Tourist in OKC

    May 16 in the United States ⋅ 🌬 82 °F

After breakfast at Staybridge Suites we went through Piedmont, checked out the two old homesteads and two of our real estate offices before heading to Express Ranch to visit the Clydesdales with Diane & Crosby. Leaving there we spent the day on the roads of OKC, Edmond, Yukon & Acadia. Downtown OKC we visited the Art Museum, the Memorial at the Murah Building bombing site and Bricktown. We went to the Capital and the Governor’s mansion which was under renovations. Traveled Route 66/Main St in Yukon with a great mural. Then to Route 66 in Acadia, visiting Acadia Lake, the Round Barn and the elite neighborhood of Sugar Hill. We stopped for lunch at Pop’s. Then back to OKC, driving through the beautiful homes in Nichol Hills and driving around Lake Hefner.Read more

  • Fun Day!

    May 18 in the United States ⋅ 🌬 75 °F

Sunday was an easy, fun day. I slept in late and we lazed around the hotel until time to go to Tu’Ya’s Trivia Fundraiser. It was so great seeing so many old friends. We did terribly at the game, but it couldn’t have been a better time.
After Trivia we went to Stockyard City. It being Sunday night, there were several trucks arriving for the Monday morning sales.
We enjoyed dinner at the iconic 100 year old Cattlemen’s Steakhouse with Diane and Dave. Lamb Fries were not a hit, but I couldn’t resist.
Nice day! More sightseeing to come Monday.

This morning Diane Olson joined Catherine and I for a trip to Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. After visiting the Visitors Center we went out hoping to see buffalo in their habitats. We saw lots of cattle and buffalo - and their babies. We were thrilled with all we saw, but most excited about the prairie dogs. Would have never guessed how many giggles some prairie dogs and Cheetos could have brought us.Read more

After leaving the Refuge we visited Holy City and headed to Medicine Park, Oklahoma’s first planned resort in 1908. It’s known for its unique architecture using red granite cobblestones. We stopped at the Old Plantation Restaurant , originally the Plantation Hotel and enjoyed a lunch before heading back to OKC.Read more

  • Winding Down

    May 19 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 55 °F

Our last day started with a game of dominoes until I had to leave the hotel for appointments. It was great to see those I have been doing business with from a distance, and actually get to hug some necks. Then a quick drive by to snap a pic of my final Hertz workplace, off to a Tu’Ya ABWA meeting and a late night snack from Brahms.Read more

  • Heading Home

After grabbing Dunkin and filling the tank we headed home. We grabbed breakfast a Robertson’s before heading to a wonderful trip through Central Market. I am so glad that Catherine was impressed since I have raved about how much I love shopping there so much! Then on to Collin Street Bakery and the obligatory stop at French Market in Natchitoches where Catherine took the wheel and got us home safe and sound.Read more
