    Finally leaving Wroclaw, hoping to get to Warsaw by 6:30pm ish.

    It’s quite comical how there’s literally loads of Soviet era brutalist accommodation that’s been painted over to make it look not as beige and grey.Read more

    Had a hour nap, the weather is getting colder, darker, and harsher. Since Gliwice there has been this dark cloud in the distance I’ve been travelling to and I’m not a superstitious person but man it’s ominous.Read more

    So my Bus to Kyiv has been delayed, now looking at 11pm set off :/

    Hopefully it’s not cancelled, picked up some food though, looks nice

    Finally getting closer to the bus being here…

    Next update should be either coming upto the border or just past the border

    First stop of the trip, slept the whole way through past the border, trying to sleep as much of it away as possible

    Again, desperately been trying to sleep as much as possible and fast travel to Kyiv.

    Most of the people got off in Lviv and so I can crank my seat way back which is a godsend, slowly running out of water and food but it’ll be over soon…Read more

    Getting closer to Zhytomyr

    Still driving…. Zhytomyr is the closest stop then about another hour and 30 mins until I hit Kyiv

    Planning on going to an underground Ukrainian bar with some friends

    Travelling through Zhytomyr is compelling.

    It’s both a relic of the past and a stark vision of the future.

    Outdated and outmoded brutalist soviet housing blocs scatter the area, grey, lifeless and dense, but alongside it is broken warehouses, destroyed buildings and battered roads, all a consequence of the war.

    Being the closest city to Kyiv in the west means people have flocked here from the capital to escape the Shelling. The streets are deserted but there is clearly a larger human presence here than before, cars and trucks litter the pavements.

    As I move towards Kyiv I’m seeing more cranes and building projects, whether they’re still being worked on, I’m not sure, but I hope that these people find sanctuary.    Read more

    Meeting with Friends!!

    Had an amazing time meeting with friends, checking into the gorgeous Hotel Ukraine and visiting an underground bar and independence square.

    Kyiv, What An Experience

    Honest to God, hand on heart, the best trip of my life so far.

    This place is absolutely beautiful, the people are so amazing and the architecture and atmosphere is the best I’ve experienced.

    The food and people are so diverse and all have such amazing manners and personalities.

    I’ve met some amazing people who I’m happy to call friends and came out with so many gifts

    In the span of two days I have

    . Tried Borscht for the first time (it’s actually good)
    . Went to an underground Ukrainian bar
    . Walked all around Kyiv and its churches
    . Had a full course Georgian meal (genuinely the best food I’ve had ever)
    . Got a tattoo from the best tattoo artist ever @Fotsklat
    . Saw destroyed Russian tanks, missiles and drones
    . Survived a air raid (slept through it)

    10/10 would do it again

    After loads of strikes last night I managed to get up around 11am after having an amazing dinner from the hotel last night

    I was rudely awoken by a critical drone strike, whatever that’s supposed to mean
