First time we have been to terminal 5 wow it’s busy! Get the pod driverless car which was fun then find a fairly quite place to have breakfast, been up since 4am so feeling a bit spaced!

Breakfast served in our room , I didn’t like the whiskey porridge much but bacon and pancakes was very nice ! Charlie had a birthday cocktail and eggs Royale , all very nice

Probably worth sharing a bit about the chap that had this house built , he was a Victorian entrepreneur type calked Donald Smith who made tons of money in Canada and built this house for his wife Isabel you can see thier initials over the window of our room . Not much left of the original gardens but you can see the lakes he had built , stunning views of mountains all around !Read more

Scramble down a somewhat overgrown part of the woodland path to make it down to the main loch (gutted missed the one in the woods) find a small beach but get moaned up by a grumpy local , seems a shame you can’t walk around the lochRead more

Yet another 3 course meal (feeling a bit stuffed now!) Both have guinea foul to start Charlie has rack of lamb and I have duck, we share a cheese board for pudding . Time to check out , feel sad as it’s been so lovely here and feel even sadder on the check out bill 😱 Made a list of near by things to look at then used a randomiser to select one as don’t have enough time to do everything! Charcuterie board back at hotel

Wow the hotel manager comes out to the car park and welcomes us back with a glass of processco and lights the fire for us what a stellar guy ! They don’t have a full restaurant but he puts together a charcuterie board for us and gives Charlie some free tins of beer for later ! Honestly never had service like it very impressive!Read more
