Literally. Rails. The cover pic is of railroad rails. They started building the railroads in AK with the rails on the bottom (50 & 70). Turns out the weather here is rough (duh), and those rails would warp. So, they upgraded to 116#. Eventually, all major railways were converted to 136#. A good example of trying to be cheap ends up costing a whole lot more.Read more
