Hawaiian Appreciation

We went to the Hawaiian Appreciation Day. They keep bringing up Chief of War, which is on Apple TV. This is a must watch.

We watched them sing and hula. Such a beautiful culture.

Apparently Hawaiian is not mandated in school. You also do not have to be Hawaiian to attend a Hawaiian Immersion School. Sad, actually.

Our Hawaiian Ambassadors are Temihana and Ku'ulie.

To go to Nii'hau, you have to live there or be invited. The Robinson family bought the island for $10,000 and preserve the island for pure Hawaiians. You can't drink or smoke on the island. Nii'hau shells can be thousands of dollars.Read more
