Lan Ha Bay, Vietnam

Sat next to Halong Bay is Lan Ha Bay, the less touristy, quieter cousin to the famous bay that we decided to visit. As we stayed on an island close by we organised with a local fisherman for a private tour on a converted boat - and happily sailed the bay sat at the front taking in the fantastic views.

We had one stop in the trip too, for Monkey Island. Somehow the first time we have seen monkeys in the wild, and it sure left an impression when Luke was mugged for his plastic water bottle by two large males. Genuinely terrifying at the time, especially as the tour group who had just left told us that someone had been bitten twice minutes before we arrived!

We were very glad to get back to sailing around the bay, Luke replacing his water with a beer instead, and going from one of the most adrenaline filled moments so far to one of the most serene and beautiful landscapes.Les mer
