Jewish Cemetery, George Town, Malaysia

The oldest Jewish cemetery in South east Asia, there was an odd contrast between the peaceful cemetery and busy day to day life being lived outside of the walls.

The grab driver seemed confused as we were dropped off , and the cemetery caretaker had to usher us inside as the gate was closed so I don't believe there are many visitors here.

Some of the graves dated back to the 1800's, with the most modern one we found from 1970s, and there was also a section reserved for military.Read more
