Sardine Run, Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines

One of the main reasons to come to Moalboal as a tourist is to view the sardines just meters away from the beach, and to possibly see sea turtles too.

I did get to see many, MANY sardines, but sadly no sea turtles. It was fun to be snorkeling again though, and to see various other fish in the sea. I enjoyed seeing the mass of sardines as they moved in swathes along the drop off, getting disrupted by someone and then merging the group together a few metres along.

This site was far more popular than Siquijor marine sanctuary, so there was lots more tourists, in groups and on boats, either snorkeling or scuba diving too. Unfortunately the effect on the coral is obvious, which was sad to see so close.

There were many fish that blended in well with the coral though, so you might need to zoom into the photos to view some well camouflaged fish!Læs mere
