Flying Foxes, Komodo National Park

After sailing through the national park we anchored down just in time to see the flying foxes start to emerge. At dusk thousands of these massive bats head towards Flores Island for feeding (we may have actually met some close to our accommodation on the island).

At first they were all heading in one direction, and then more started to fly across the sky and over our boat. We watched them stream out till it was too dark to be able to see anymore, and all you could make out was the boats lit up across the sea.Read more
